Commission for National Engineering and Science A Pakistani government-funded defense contractor, the National Engineering & Scientific Commission (NESCOM) (Urdu: قومʌ مامورت برائʒ Ù…ׁندسό Ùˆ سائنسٌ علوم) develops, builds, and markets defense gear, including missile and weapon systems. The Pakistani government established and provided funding for it in order to advance its own weaponry production system.
The National Development Complex, Air Weapons Complex, Maritime Technologies Complex, and Project Management Organization were combined to establish the National Engineering & Scientific Commission (NESCOM) in 2000. Early in the new millennium, NESCOM accomplished a number of firsts quickly. These included the creation of the Ra'ad air-launched cruise missile, the Babur ground-launched cruise missile, and the Shaheen family of missiles.
